I`m inclined to agree with North Korea on this one (I`m from America, but I hardly agree that we are right), but I am sorta interested in knowing why they bothered mentioning the olympics at one point. I`m sorry, but I think they should be concerned with things more important than the outcome of a few games.

Oh no, don`t get me wrong. I enjoy our freedoms. I just don`t think it`s necessary to:

    • Impose our ideas on other countries, especially those capable of thinking for themselves.
    • Own enough nukes to wipe life off the planet, and then criticize others for owning just enough to blow up a country.
    • Elect the Missing Link as president (especially when he`s against the very thing he proves).
    • Wage needless war on countries that we are not really threatened by (Afganistan? Ok, maybe. Iraq? Sorry, that was just uncalled for).
    • Pull every other country with weapons into the needless war.
    • Have the weakest education system of every non-third-world country.
    • Kill people for oil.
    • Kill people because they are of a different religion.
    • Generally make ourselves hated by every other nation in the world.

And, by the way, communism is a very good system. It`s power-hungry people (ie, people like k

    • Ummmm.. O.k. so if you were president it would be ok for North Korea to have nukes?
    • Leftist personal bashing
    • Uncalled for? The UN didn`t think so, until they realized they would lose money that should have been going to the citizens.
    • Eh? Where the hell did you get this idea?

Well, I`m not a big fan of Bush, but c`mon! It is so easy to say that America is evil, and the cause of Korea`s divison. And, tell me, why Korea is still divided? Maybe, maybe because North Korea is a dictorship, hum? Even if America were the cause of the division(I don`t say that it`s not), that doesn`t explain why they are still divided. They`re waiting for USA to do it for them?
    It`s pathetic, as all propaganda....

This video is actually pretty old, I saw it about a year or two ago. The only thing this will escalate is our laughing at the NK propaganda machine. There is another one out there, about Kim Jong Il. I`ll see if I can find it and get it posted. It`s comedy gold, with four stars.

Hey, I say prove them right.

Losers at school hate the poular kids, because they have what the losers cant have.

We are ahted for similar reasons, the same reason many of us mock celebrities, but would do anything to be one.

As I said, let`s prove them right, and fu(k the geneva convention. We could take the whole damn country, and name it America II. Hell, we could build a big prison out of it and send our convicts there.

Why stop there, we should just take France. I mean, they owe us that much anyway. before anyone from any country other than America speaks, look at how much your country owes us...

and then get our permission to speak.

    America - 1
    Other Countries - Owned

Well, I have experienced life in other countries and all I can say is that while there are countries that are worse, there are lands that are far more free than ours. Think about that the next time you want government issued healthcare, marry your same sex partner, buy goods from Cuba, or exercise your constitutional right to protest since the patriot act defines this as a potential terrorist activity. Sec. 802 reads to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion. Coercion means to make someone do something they don’t want to do, like leave Iraq, or legalize stem-cell research so don’t protest these things, they could be taken as coercion. In fact, a lot of things about that act violate out civil liberties, like a federal agents authority to search your home without your consent or knowledge, or their right to monitor your phone conversations and internet activity. I guess our rights don’t matter as long as it’s in the name of “patriot

S_J_W that`s why every time there has been a protest since the Patriot act, every one was arrested, for being a terrorists...oh wait...that didn`t happen. Seriously son, take off the tinfoil hat. Now, I`m not a fan of the act ether, but the good thing is, the act can not override the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights, and it has a short life.

glen. We have culture...we have a lot of it, and I`m not talking about Pop culture. Hell, besides our own culture, we have culture from all corners of the Earth. We`ve got culture coming out the wazoo.

My complaint is that there shouldn’t be bills things on record that even potentially allow for violations. That same section says “the term `domestic terrorism` means activities that involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State”. That means, that if you are accused of any form of assault, murder, or wrongful death the charge of domestic terrorism could potentially be added to the list. Now, I’m not defending violent crime but the fact is that it’s not right to have the option of charging a person as a terrorist for something that isn’t a terrorist act.

Oh, and in 2002 107 protesters against the war were arrested in New York for “blocking the sidewalk”. They weren’t being violent nor did they resist arrest. That’s 107 violations of the part of the first amendment that says “…the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the gov

S_J_W since when is government issued healthcare such a great thing? capitilism is what drives this nation, and Dr.`s that have superior skills come to our nation for the money. is that bad? no! in the US you do not have to get on a waiting list to see a doctor. you go to the hospitl and you recive the service that you need. people say that we donot have freedom. i say we do. what in this nation are you not allowed to do? protest you say? if it is peaceful, and not disruptive then you can protest anything you like. stem cell research, and same sex marriage are volitile issues that the American people have, as a nation, decided that they do not want. the same sex marriage was voted down in every state that it was purposed in the 2004 election. it was voted down by the general public, not government officials. if you dont like living in our free nation, perhaps you could return to the other nations you seem to care so deeply about.

This topic finnaly caused me to join after over a year of just watching.

Anyone who isn`t behind the US being in Iraq, or thinks they don`t want us there simply doesn`t have all the facts.

I have family in Iraq. Although they have hundreds of people shooting at them, they have 10`s of thousands of people hugging them.

Iraq was a country being rulled by a tyrant! A tyrant that most of them didn`t want.

So many times we, (as a society), react to the minority. The people we here complaining about our pressence in Iraq are the minority. "The squeky wheel!" I think it is time to quit oiling the sqeaky wheels and replace them!

I am a VERY proud American, and I am proud to lve in a country that tried to help others in need, and a country that supports individualism.

Have your opinions, but please remember when you are talking trash about our presence in Iraq, you hurt your friends and family who are there for YOU! Fighting while you play on the computer!

I think the biggest problem is that some Americans don`t care what other countries think. But I met a lot that do care and most of them are the intellectual ones that actually knows what is going on in the war and they don`t just think.
"Oh, my dad and mom are stupid hicks who support Bush so I will support Bush. deeeeerrrrrrrrr."
North Korea has every right to say what they needed to say. America should just back out of Iraq, because all the people here just think about the `poor` soilders that are dying and never talk about the truely poor Iraqie children that are dying with out knowing why.

First off you didnt go there to bring the us way of doing things to them. You went because of the WMD`s, o sorry I mean oil. O yeah it was going to last 6months remove sadam and get etc etc. The US is a young country and needs to learn that war gets you nothing in the end.
But for somereason the US loves war, any chance to jump in and have a fight, go get North Korea, yeah they are making nukes etc, but you`re not bombing the hell out of them.
Still not found bin-lid yet? (very well done there too)

Well, since I requested this post I feel some responsibility in explaining why, as an American, I felt it should be viewed. I should also say, I am one of those few college educated intellectuals roaming this country in search of a better answer than captialistic gain to the question of "Why are we here?" I believe that propaganda from all sides should be and is usually examined to gain insight into debate counterarguements and healthy debate is exactly what this country is founded upon. Read the Constitution and more importantly read the notes that were provided by all those who created it and who have lead this country, for a better history lesson than you probably glossed over in school. Become an informed citizen and do this country justice. America could be a shining beacon to the rest of the world if we got our priorities straight and started doing right by other nations. Play well in this large sandbox called Earth, don`t be a bully and protect the innocent. That`s my

*From previous post* That`s my America. The one where we remember the ground rules for playing well with others which we learned in grade school.

As I step off my soapbox I have this final thing to say. I am not a fan of tyrannical rule, nor am I a fan of government interfering with freedoms most especially freedom of speech. People who trade freedoms for security deserve neither freedom nor security. (B.Franklin) And to all the other nations and its citizens who hate America, remember that there are oppressed people here too and not everything you see in the media is true. Become educated yourselves and realize that any nation is not solely represented by its leaders and in some cases the leaders are not with the majority of its nation. You should all realize this as I am sure your leaders may not always speak for you. Please keep in mind that Bush DOES NOT speak for all Americans. Do not hate people you hardly know. That is unfair and makes you just as bad as those you hate.

Kim Jong Il: A tyrannical leader hellbent on destroying his country. Generally hated by his country`s population, though they aren`t allowed to say it.

George W. Bush: A tyrannical leader hellbent on destroying his country. Generally loved by his country`s population, and they`re willing to say it with things like guns, grenades, missiles, tanks, bombs, and other devices use to kill anybody who disagrees.

Whoa, where have you been for the past few years? I know where I`ve been: America. And I can tell you this: The majority of the people here ARE bent on waging war. :/

Just an FYI for all of you: Bush did say that he was in Iraq for the oil just a week ago. I don`t know what it`ll be like next week, though... he has a habit of change his reasoning every two or three weeks.

Here`s my final thought on the matter (maybe): When we can`t deploy our troops to disaster areas like New Orleans because they`re all fighting pointless wars somewhere else, there`s something wrong with the country.

Ok, speaking from personal expierence (for I have lived outside of America in many exetremely different cultures for many different reasons more than in my own country) It simply comes down to this, America is the greatest place most of you (I am speaking to Americans, not Europeans)will ever find even if you go around the world a hundered times, why? I hear you all sliently asking... Because one, it is your HOME.There is something about the place your born into... You will always have a love for it. too, it is YOUR CULTURE (yes, we have that just like everone else) and third no matter where you go, no one will see you as anything other than an American, therefore it is impossible to truly join anothner country...my advice, enjoy what you have, and if you dont like something about the way the gov. works, vote to change it. remember, you actually have the right to overthrow the gov. it you so wish.

Me too, after almost a year of just reading, have decided to sign up and say what I think. And yes, it is a catchy tune =)

I live in Brazil, and I must say, the US is quite possibly the most hated country in the world. And even though I don`t by any means agree with that, it`s your fault, and your fault only. By waging needless wars, by not signing the Kyoto Protocol and by electing Bush as your President. Twice. I mean, come on. If Brazil could have voted in the north-american election, 78% of the votes would`ve gone to John Kerry (BBC data, I think). I was reading a message board the other day and I saw a thread called "Countries you`d love to blow up". Guess who was winning?

I always try to tell people that, even though Bush isn`t the best thing that`s ever happened to this planet, you just can`t blame the whole country. Some of you americans really think that the US has the right to police the world and do whatever you think is right, not even wondering if there are o

others out there who might suffer from your decisions. However, as I have seen here, there are quite a lot of you guys that understand that the Iraq war was most unasked for.

It annoys me when some of you say it like you were the >only< country with freedom of speech. Guess what, you`re not. And guess what, the US isn`t the savior of the world, bringing peace and democracy to societies that, unfortunately, aren`t as wise as yours. There was a military dictatorship in Brazil until 1989, and it was all sponsored by the US. There was no freedom of speech or thought. And, hell, wasn`t it (or isn`t it, I don`t know) a crime to be a comunist in your country? And why don`t you just go on with your world-saving crusade and help Africa?

All in all, I personaly view the United States as a great country, with rightful citzens and, of course, some problems. What annoys the rest of the world, I guess, is that some of you just think you`re better than everyone else. You`re not.

This will be my final word on all of this. I love America, or rather what America is supposed to be. I’m embarrassed by its leader and the minority of my countrymen who still wholeheartedly support him with blind loyalty in the face of all of his failings. We have lost what respect the world had for us, and we are betraying the things that our founding fathers lived and died for. I only hope that one day I can again be proud to be an American because I’ve just about forgotten what that feels like.

And about the Iraq oil crises. I hope you democratic liberal fools realize that we wouldn`t even be in Iraq if it wasn`t for voting against the proposal of tapping in to Alaska`s oil resources http://www.petitiononline.com/AODP/petit... As a New Zealander, (a boring, insignificant Commonwealth country whom nobody seems to have any opinion towards, for those of you who are geographically challenged), I must say, that as much as angry Americans try to convince us otherwise, it is America and America only who has made the rest of the world hate your government. Nothing personal, eh?
And I find your childish mud-slinging in response to criticism of your country very amusing!
My favourite quote ever goes something like "patriotism is the blind belief that your country is better than everyone elses" and this is markedly proven on this very comment page.

Actually, we joined the war towards the tail end. I don’t see why this country still acts like it single handedly won the war. I mean, we had known about what was going on in Germany and Poland for almost three years but it wasn’t until Pearl Harbor that we felt we had to do something. We didn’t care until it effected us. If you want to compare blood spilt in the effort to thwart the Axis then the award goes to the Russians who lost about 9 million solders with another 18 million wounded. Compare that to the American forces loss of about 300,000 with another 300,000 wounded.

Oh, by the way, the picture of that kid you posted to so eloquently make your point was most likely taken at a soccer or rugby game. He’s probably Dutch (since he has a Rotterdam shirt on) and hates you for being American.

hell what if America didnt join until the later part of WWII. I am so sick and fu@king tired of Americans complaining about this country. I have had a military backround in my family since the civil war. My great great grandfather was Robert E. Lee, I had family in WWI and my grand father was in WWII, my father was in Vietnam and my brother was in the Gulf war and now my best friend died in Iraq and my fiance is now in Iraq, so before anyone starts bad mouthing the US, just tell me if you have ever had anyone die in a war or even fought for your country. The reason you can bitch and complain is because of the ones who died for you to have a voice. Be a bit more respectful you non-nice individuals.

OK I tried to post hours ago, but IMB was bogged down. America has the WORST health care system of any industrailized nation because poeple without insurace can`t get preventative care. Sure if given the choice between public and private hospitals I`d take private, but a public hospital is better than nothing. Second, is it America`s fault N Korea is like it is? Is it America`s fault N Korea invaded the South, no. Was it America`s idea that the UN voted to wage war in defence of South Korea against North Korean invasion? Not entirely, all UN member nations voted yes. Was it only Americans firing in defence of South Korea? No. Tiny Luxembourg lost 44 soldiers, and even poverty stricken Etheopia defended South Korea in the "Great Struggle they go on about in this film. If you have issues with conditions in North Korea blame Kim Jong Ill. If you are so ignorant as to be swayed by this film, blame your own nation, because chances are your nation participated in he defence of South K

SWJ, you can`t be serious. The UK and France began WW2 in earnest in 1940, by 1941 America was at war. The war lasted till 1945, so how is joining in the 2nd year of a 6 year war tail end? Secondly, check the supply and production figures. Germany was outproducing teh USSR and UK in quality and quantity of arms. Ever heard of "Lend Lease?" Before we even joined the war, the UK was using our ships to ferry supplies and defend shipping lanes. It was American food that kept the Brits going. later on, it was American planes keeping the RAF at full strength, and at one point nearly all Soviet ground attack planes were built in the USA and given for free to defeat Germany. This is no shot at the other Allies, but he production capacity wasn`t there. You can`t fight without tanks, planes and ships, many of which were supplied by the USA. Lastly, the US made 3 major landings in Axis territory in Europe, compared to 3 by all other Allies combined.

I have nothing against the military. They don’t choose where they are sent and why. They are a tool to reach the goals of out government. I find it interesting that you speak proudly of Robert E. Lee considering that he was on the wrong side of that war, or proud that you had family sent to the hellish war in Vietnam. Even many of the solders who fought in it think it was a mistake. What about your fiancé? Don’t you think that his time would be better spent on the initial intent of the war to hunt terrorist instead of trying to impose our idea of freedom on Iraq? I was all for hunting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan but we strangely shifted focus. I don’t mind that we joined WWII. I even had family fight in it. I just wish that we had gotten involved when we heard that there was a genocide going on and not just when it hit our doorstep. Speaking of which, I would have been behind an intervention in the Rwanda Genocide where 800,000 people were killed but the government d

Oh yeah and SWJ, the Russians lost most of their men because they lacked equipment. Going into a battle the Soviets did something like this. A gun for you, bullets for you, a gun for you, bullets for you... If you only got bullets and no gun you were expected to pick up a dead comerade`s gun when they died, no way to defend yourself till then. And oh yeah, they set up machine guns in the rear of their troops to mow down anyone who retreated. Did I mention innefective tactics or a harsh winter?

    Pardon the long post:

I am proud to be a part of a country where one need not fear for one’s race, gender, faith, family, or beliefs. I am especially proud of living in a country with a history of citizens standing in defense of these rights and freedoms. I feel secure knowing that those attempting to infringe on my rights will be pursued and stopped swiftly with equal parts equity and justice, and that I have no reason to fear such pursuit if only I honor these same freedoms as enjoyed by others.

America—like all nations, cultures, and peoples—has dark elements and memories. Yet despite these, the resilience and truth captured by the Constitution of the United States and fought for by men and women of this nation have always prevailed with time. If there is corruption, darkness, or evil within our government, it is our responsibility and power to strive in fixing it.

To the degree they wish, American citizens are the government. Policies that are corrupt and abusive can be changed for the better. Like products in free a market, the strongest ideals prevail after much sweat and toil—which, for Americans, have been these essential rights and freedoms.

Several other free nations have comparable laudable histories. Many existent and emerging peoples are embracing similar ideals, after having rejected less sterling and infallible beliefs. As Americans, we appreciate, stand by, and honor these as brothers. Our nation has been extremely fortunate in successfully adopting these values into a system of government early in the course modern of history, and has been blessed with much wealth and knowledge as a result. And as any appreciative, pensive benefactor of these liberties will tell you, they are worth living and dying for so others may enjoy the same.

They have proven to be the most essential, incorruptible, and indefatigable ideals in the record of humanity. Many Americans have chosen to risk their lives, often making the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the universal truths and good captured in our Constitution. That is why I am both humbled and proud to be an American. That is why I have faith in my country. That is why I believe we must aid the Afghanis and Iraqis in establishing systems of government upheld by the people, founded on values and rights they believe in. And that is why I have hope for the future of our world.

You talk about human rights, but black people here didn`t become equal to everyone else untill the late 60`s, did you see any countries who already abolished thinking like that meddling around in our business. You just can`t accept that you may be wrong. I seriously doubt ANY of you have ever been to North Korea, or Iran for that matter, but the two cant be compared. One is an asian dictatorship (which is not as bad as th Government makes it out to be) and the other is a middle eastern dictatorship based deeply within religion.

it`s sick that even anti-america propoganda causes democrats and republicans to take sides. hey, those of us who live in the U.S., maybe some of you don`t believe some of the ways that our government runs. but they`re talking trash about our country! have some pride. don`t just side with them.

Isn`t the government the people and the people the government in America? Hmmm...wouldn`t that suggest that the people run this country? If we run this country, than aren`t we all just bashing on ourselves here at I-am-bored? These are not political matters that we are discussing here, but just old hate towards each other. It`s like I`m reliving Junior High or something.

It really says something when so many people in America and Europe agree with an anti-American propaganda cartoon from a communist dictatorship. It makes me wonder how these people think, if they do at all.

This is the mentality of some of you:

    1. I hate Bush.
    2. They hate Bush.
    3. Therefore, we believe all of the same things. Heck, communism is ok!

Why don`t you people grown up and stop screaming at each other?! Instead of throwing insults at each other why don`t you give arguements supported

    Because Stingray,
Everybody can turn bullpoo into fact, or fact into bullpoo depending on what they want out of it. That’s how politics work, right?

The REAL problem, and this applies to every country, is that all politicians are crooks. They don’t really care about you, or the issues that you care about. Their only concern is themselves and their own personal clout. Granted, there may be one or two out there that aren’t that way but I’ve never heard of them.

Why anyone would blindly follow or defend any politician or political party, which is basically just a pack of narcissistic crooks, is beyond me.

Those of you who aren’t US citizens, I hope you know we aren’t all chest-beating morons. However, the large majority of us are proud of our country regardless of who’s in office at the time - just as I’m sure you are

Bush still remains President...not one single assasination attempt on his life...Republicans are still the majority...Hillary just came out of the closet...Oil runs this world...Liberals still just argue to argue, because they hate their dads...Gas prices will continue to rise unless we tap into Alaska...AND GOD STILL RUNS THIS COUNTRY!!!

the video itself isn`t worth getting all worked up about and yelling about olympic medals is pathetic.

All in All North Korea sucks but now they`re getting rid of their nuclear thing, for now, something iran won`t do. Iran is more bellicose than NK and they are the worst country they eat and sleep in their own dung while being muslims its too bad they can`t die just from THAT. I think we should go to war with them except the iraq war went on too long and it cost us wayyy too much in lives and money we should just back off for 10 years or so unless they act up again.

Bush- worst president ever, and the bushies on IAB want to say I`m a fan of NK, please. or that I should "leave" because the problem is with "me" no its ALL BUSH i`d leave if i could but bush/cheney is almost out of office so i`ll stay.
