I think, just like daseeg, that TV networks are part of the problem in America. In particular television news brought by Fox turns out to be extremely twisted. It`s not surprising that Geraldo is almost begging to leave out spin and all that other sh#t; he apparently knows too well what Fox is all about. You can only feel sorry for those viewers who completely rely on that network.

nothing in these vids, and your responses surprises me, living in canada
we are all to well aware that your news media sugar coats and hides the real news from you. they did it on your war on terrorism, not telling you how many soldiers were actually being killed.
and now this.

My thing is, stop trying to bring politics into a disaster like this. Get them out of the city to shelters that are safe and help them there. Don`t trap them in the city. The worst factor, which is disease, has yet to settle into the area, and when it does, thousands more will die.

Probably the one thing I don`t understand is why they haven`t moved them out yet. They had a great point: conditions were much better if only they were allowed to walk away and head to the next town, but they`re being held in.

I don`t care who`s right and who`s wrong and who`s racist and who`s whatever. Get them out. Help them. Get them back on their feet. THEN, AND ONLY THEN, will I be fine with all this political bickering. PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING AND DYING, PLEASE CHOOSE A BETTER TIME TO RAMBLE ON ABOUT WORTHLESS POLITICS THAT HAVE NO MEANING IN A SITUATION SUCH AS NEW ORLEANS IS IN.

Let`s save lives, not argue over them.

I`ve seen pictures now on the news of the empty interior of the Superdome, and the full, sane Astrodome. They`re outta there now.

My grandfather lives down there. I can`t understand myself why it`s happening this way. What you see right there is what they`ve got; no sugary coating, no "We love Bush, he`s doing just dandy" camera filters. Yes, there`s help there..but it has yet to reach the areas that need it the moest. Like the convention center! that`s just disgusting. This is the United States of America, why can`t we help our own people more than a week after a hurricane?

That`s right, and those 80 police officers who went in to save rape victims from the super-dome were beaten back by the bloodthirsty mob; that couldn`t have anything to do with it now, could it?

But of course. Everyone knows Bush is directly in charge of Louisiana`s hurricane contingency plans.

apearantly those thousands of people didnt bring in enough money to have a state funded evacuation plan or to fix the levees. Ofcourse that`s Bush`s fault too, somehow.

To the person who said it shows the opposite of what the rest of the media is saying, that doesn`t make them wrong. The rest of the media sugar coats things like this because its what we want to hear. That was the plain truth. Maybe its a little better now, but I don`t see any reason why they wont let them leave. How many thousands of people come to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, now they cant return the favor?

I don`t think they`re going to let anyone leave. They`re pretty much quarantining them to the area. So all they can do is sit around and wait while disease builds up and they all die.

Then Bush comes in to clean up the bodies.

"The guy back in America"? Ummm...they were all in America. Have you forgotten that this is NO and not some third world country? Shocking similarities.

Forget the Geraldo clip - scroll down and check out the Jack Cafferty clip - I saw it live on TV and thought it said it all...

Geraldo has always been an over dramatic as$, but I can understand both of their frustration. I`d probably be pretty upset if I was there to.
Buddy may say they were losing it since it`s Fox news, but I say they are emotional from being at a tramatic event and see alot of suffering.

Yeah this was a few days ago when things were at the worst. It was on late at night.

Geraldo was crying and was like "why can`t people leave? WHAT THE HELL?"

It`s a shame, but I remember them telling people, "mandatory evacuation" which means, The will be nothing we can do for you if you stay. Even if they were poor, they could have walked out of the low lands. Even if they are old, they could have gotten a ride or taken a bus.
I`ve seen thousands of these victems getting food and water and shelter. We have to remember this is a whole city, thats alot of supplies to gather up and there will be shortages at times. They cant go to Texas because Texas said they are full. Othe cities populations doubled. If people were preparing for a hurricane then it would have been alot less people.
I remember the news before it hit. They said it seemed like New Orleans was getting ready for a hurrican party instead. Everyone was joking with each other.
Who know why they can`t leave now. Maybe theres already been outbreaks of some sort of bacteria and they cant tell them, imagine the chaos if they did.

Wow, that`s the absolute opposite of everything I`ve read in the news and seen regularly on TV. I`ve heard there`s thousands of people already in the city and helping people, and I was led to believe the people in the Superdome have already all been brought to the Astrodome. I don`t know what to belive, but my only guess is that this particular report was made just before this move was made. Just a guess. I`ve actually been watching Fox News quite a bit and I`ve seen those guys before, and they always seem to show the opposite of what the rest of the media claims to be true.

The download time is pretty awful, somebody should put it on putfile or something. It`s 8:27 long, and compressed to hell. Like 5 megs.

Serriously, its sick what people are going through. Why the hell dont you let people leave? It`s like telling people to stay in a burning building, it`s safer in there. We`ll put the fire out as soon as possible. 6 days later...

Watch this if you`ve been watching the news, or even if you havent.
