Yeah right, as if you can cook an egg with 2 mobile phones and a radio! But I did like the one about making fire with a chocolate bar and a can of coke. That can be done.

My dad keeps his cell phone near the speakers in his truck. It go`s off a few seconds before it rings. It also picks up other people`s phones when you drive by them.

I don`t have to turn on the radio to hear that weird clicking noise. I wear a hearing aid with a tiny antenna (which picked up my teachers` voices when they talked into this special microphone thing), and I hear that noise just before a cellphone rings. I only hear it with certain brands of cellphones, and sometimes with regular phones. I like to make people think I`m psychic by saying "Cell phone!" seconds before they hear one ring. :-D

The problem is that you`re all forgetting to turn the radio on as well. XP

"Nobody would be stupid enough to try something like that."
In this world? I think the majority of the population is stupid enough, to be entirely honest.

Maddog, those business men who are on 2 phones at the same time have no brains anyway. So they wouldn`t feel a thing.

Well, if youre worried about the radiation from a cellphone then you better invest in tinfoil hats. Not just for when you use a cellphone, though. When you watch TV(especially if its a tube tv), when you walk outside(what do you think the sun is, a space heater?)when you microwave. Heres one you probably didnt know, when you plug anything into the wall. Theres certain things like rechargable battery chargers, or one of these things, that give off a lot of a charge that you cant even feel as static, but can mess up any electronics that youre holding in your other hand.

I knew those pointy tihngs on the cell phones had a purpose.

Yup, apparently they are microwave death rays. Bow before my cell phone or be incinerated!!!!!

Seriously though, I can’t believe that anyone could take this seriously. You’re probably getting more radiation from reading this on your computer screen than you ever would on a cell phone conversation. And even the radiation from your screen isn’t going to hurt you.

I remember when cell phones were first becoming popular the biggest myth going around was that it would cause brain tumors and such! Hey we never know. It`s a relativly new thing...maybe we will have an increase in brain tumors from all the cell phones someday. Maybe not.

The frequencey band that cell phones use is the same frequency that your microwave oven uses to cook food with, but the microwave just has higher wattage. I`ve never heard of cooking an egg with a couple cell phones but if you think that no radiation is going to your head when you use a cell phone think again.

If you were lost with two cell phones and an egg I think it would make more sense to call for help then to waste minutes on trying to cook an egg

if it did work and I was a hiker, I would probably call someone to help me instead of just cooking a cruddy egg

Here`s an old trick(well, as old as cellphones). If you listen to a lot of music or tv or anything with speakers, leave your cellphone next to the device. When somebody calls you, you get a weird clicking noise a few seconds before the call even goes through. It`s not a very useful trick, but I usually have headphones on (and loud at that), so this trick works for me. The best place to put the cellphone is on a line, like RCA or headphone cables, or right next to a speaker, like against your TV. Another trick with tube TVs is the picture will jump, or black lines will form on the screen. Don`t worry, it`s not going to hurt the TV any.

The only real problem I`ve come across is when it checks your voicemail for you, every so often. It will fake you out. If you hear the clicking, just be prepared for a call.

"p-ball4life, I suppose it`s scary because if the phone can cook an egg, imagine what it could do to your brain."

Wow. I think it`s fake - they would need a lot more phones but it does depend on what phone you have i suppose.
Scary.

100% fake..I work in the mobile telecomunications industry. I`ve seen it tried with 30 phone`s to do the same thing..Nothing happenes..You get more microwave emmision standing in front of your microwave than you do from 50 mobile phone`s....dont belive me either
a) Try it (You really are wasting your time)
b) think about all those business men you`ve seen talking on 2 mobile phones at once..Dont exactly see them screaming on the floor in agony from a cooked cerebellum.

this is just one of those "feed on urban myth" site..

I might try it if I remember about it tomorow. Like glen_strange (off handedly) this might be useful if you were trapped, say lost in the woods or something, seeing as in this day and age, hikers often have cellphones with them, and often rations. Who knows, could be useful. Wonder if it could cook anything else.

It won`t work and I don`t get enough free talk time to do that anyway. May come in handy if i get lost at sea with 2 mobile phones and an egg though.
