People have said I have a Canadian accent because I`m from Alaska.. which is odd. Because I grew up in the whitest city in Alaska. Oh well. At least I don`t say WARSH.

it`s kinda funny, how many anchors and sports broadcasters seem to have the same accent as people in the "south" (oklahoma, texas, arkansas, etc.). And it sounds real clear.

Everyone has an accent. You just might not think you have one because it`s what you`re used to.

Everyone has an accent, it`s just that no one realises that people who speak the same as you have an accent, so it seems normal.

meh

That was a lame clip. Not really funny.

On the subject of "American Accents," I agree that they`re the plainest. I`m going to go farther and say that of the accents in America, the midwestern accent is the clearest. If you compare it to Southern, it`s easier to understand. It`s probably just because I live in Minnesooooota....

Scottish and Australian accents are the best accents ever.

lol yeah I found this pretty funny...Very nicely covered too.

Wonder what she was thinking of before the show, eh? ;-)

What is an American accent? I live in America so I`m used to talking like that and can`t recognize what an American accent is. What makes us sound so weird?

Wow she acted like nothing happened. She didn`t even laugh or anything. I probably would have laughed if I had said it.

Funny. I love how she just keeps going like nothing happened... It makes it more funny than if she said "sorry, UP"

I didn`t really find it `dirty` but then again i couldn`t really understand what she was saying.

I love australian accents too. And english accents, I just think it is such a awsome accent.

Yeah she went smoothly over it without even a smirk, well done.

Not sure how this was a Freudian slip but...

Also it seems to me that the average American speaking english has less accent than really any other language. It`s just said as plainly as possible. Maybe it`s just because that`s what I speak but it seems most other languages play up their words with trills and coughing sounds.

This may be a stupid question, but why do the British people`s profiles say they`re from Europe, but the Canadians get to say they`re from Canada? Seems kinda odd. :-?

Two English girls came to live with me for a few months, and I had a hard time understanding what they were saying, but they could easily understand me. If we`re speaking the same language, I wonder who is at fault... Lousy lazy English accent... not pronouncing certain "R`s" or "Th`s" "Ahm fuh-ee fwee yeas owd" = "I`m thirty three years old."

Have some of you people never heard of an "American accent" before?

It`s one of the most instantly recognisable accents on the planet.

This anchorwoman does not have a lisp, its just really bad sound quality of the clip. It`s pretty funny that someone said she had an American accent; she`s the anchorwoman at one of my city`s local TV stations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CANADA!

The best part was when she went "-Off..uh.oh..ah...UP prices...", then pretended nothing happened.

Ha ha.

That reminds me of the time I was talking to my girlfriend`s mother, and instead of calling her "ma`am" I mistakenly let slip "you greasy smelly hose-bag."

Fortunately, we all saw the funny side.
