Geez. There are so many other cool things they could have done with an animated presentation of the Fibonacci Series...like all of the examples in nature for example.

It went way too fast. Also I agree with manorrd, they could have said a lot more things with this presentation to make it actually interesting.

Its also called the golden ratio, they have actually discovered that many things in nature have this pattern, such as snail shells, and even the arrangment of branches around certain types of tree trunks. if you want to learn more get the book. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...

What about the number of PHI, 1.618.

It was Da vinci who discovered it. He realised most humans are made of ratio`d parts.

Measure your head to your toe, then from you belly button to your toe, divide the larger into the smaller and you should get 1.618 Also works from finger tip to shoulder and elbow to finger tip.

jonnyl900: you`re full of crap, you know that? da vinci didn`t discover this. leonardo fibonacci did. that`s why it`s called the fibonacci series. the whole da vinci body measurement thing is for `the perfect human`. it won`t work with most of us. and the ratio of body parts has nothing to do with this series. stop making up crap. it only makes you look stupid. and osprey, the other number one isn`t needed....technically, the series doesn`t have a true beginning....because the first number will never be zero and it`s impossible for the series to get smaller than one and still work correctly.
as for this link....it was lagging....even its creator said he didn`t know much math....kind of a downer.

Before even reading this link, it`s one number plus the one which comes before it; obviously starting with one. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. Creates the "Golden Ratio" when applied to a spiral (manifests rectangularly), and is also referred to as the Fibonacci SEQUENCE; you guys really need to brush up on your familiarity with that ever-brilliant indie flick, "pi."
