well the dog was probably bugging the porcuine.....but then again if the porcupine only popped like 3 (or even just 1) the dog would have learned its lesson and ran off.....but dam porcupine must have had a grudge against the dog...lol

__space__, dude, it`s not like the porky pine get`s to choose how many quills he let`s go. As soon as you touch a quil it pretty much starts working into your skin. One thing that got to me on there was when it said the remaining ones will work themselves out, but I have heard that usualy their quills tend to actually work themselfs in further, and can cuase serious internal damage if not removed.

Thats so sad. It happened to two of my dogs one day. I had to take them both to the vet. Saxon survived it but my Griffin died because the quills went down his throat and he was choking and gagging on them. That is the reason why I hate porquipines.

Well, it`s not the porquipine`s fault for having such an effective defense mechanism. Hate God for that.

Fallen- The quills don`t work their way in, they expand, making it more painful.

yes people, I`m glad you realise animals are not as smart as humans.
I feel among geniuses that pointed that out. Dogs are still great companions and I feel bad for the poor bugger.

"One thing that got to me on there was when it said the remaining ones will work themselves out, but I have heard that usualy their quills tend to actually work themselfs in further, and can cuase serious internal damage if not removed."

That is true. They have little "backwards" facing spikes that dig the quill deeper in to the flesh. I have heard that they can dig all the way into organs if they aren`t removed.

Aw, ladybughater that`s so sad. I couldn`t imagine having a pet die like that...
