i stand corrected, kungfu sage. i was too quick to jump to a conclusion. however, the frog that i spoke of that was "revived" died of tissue damage. (he had been cryogenically frozen)...i quickly glanced at this and assumed that the same mehod had been attempted. my mistake...

7 degrees Celsius is 45 degrees Fahrenheit. not cold enough for frost bite

Male 102
Hoby Andy frost bite dosn`t set in untill tempuratures reach the freezing point. The freezing point is not till 0 degrees celcius so there would be no tissue damage due to freezing. And your right, once the body is decaying it`s too late. but the preceedure is prefourmed before the subject has died so there is no decay yet.

I think that very few people get what this artical said. there not digging up graves and reviveing people. They have to do the preceedure before the person dies for it to work. And your missing the advantages such as cryogenic stasis like they have in the movies. where people can be put to sleep for long distance space travel and reduce resource consumtion. They aren`t bringing people back from the dead there just freezing them so they can`t get any more hurt

hmmmm sothing is just tellign me RESIDENT EVIL BEWARE but what does zombie attualy mean? It means a person who just stands still and does not respond to anything so to say zombie dogs means that the press want people to assume it`s apocolypse zombie brain eating time instead of the next stage of scinticfic breakthrough

i should also note that the frog didn`t know he was alive. too much nerve damage. it would have been more or less a deep sleep.

a couple of points to make:
first of all, this can`t be real. you would have heard it from another source first (the news, etc...). secondly, even if it was real, it wouldn`t make people (or animals) immortal. once you have started to decay, you`re too late...if the body has been too far damaged, you`re too late...
to prove this is fake, the animal`s body temp drops to 7 celsius....ok...now imagine the damage of frostbite---`cept all over---and inside you too. basically, when body tissue freezes, it`s like putting lettuce in a freezer. not gonna work.

however, on a more optimistic and interesting note: in the late 90`s, scientists working in cryogenics labs were able to bring a frog back to life for an (amazingly) short period of time. it died less than ten seconds later of damage caused by internal freezing. in order to even pull that off, they had to attempt revival immediately after the frog`s death. plus frogs are cold blooded, so it was `slightly` easier to pull off. con.

It`s horrible! Who would want your life extended after you die? It`s like being buried alive then waking up!

Have these scientist EVER seen `Night of the Living Dead`?!? or any of the other ones for that matter (bad as they might be).
HUMANS DO NOT SURVIVE! GOULS TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

The whole lot of them are loonies!

And by everyday life, I mean bring back people who`ve naturaly died.

Male 332
Many of us don`t want to die, but we all have to eventually. You lose about 1 brain cell every second and when they`ve ran out, your brain dead, so living is pointless after that.

I think it`s funny how a bunch of people are talking about bring everyone back from the dead, when the article didn`t hint at it.

I thik it`s a good idea. Like kathaclysm said, it`d dramaically reduce the risk of losing a patient during surgeries. It wouldn`t be used in everyday life (I hope), so there wouldn`t be the huge overpopulation idea running around here.

I think this is great... No nobody will live forever because they just stop death from happening not completely stop death... You will eventually grow old and die... However what happenes if you get in a really bad car wreck and by the time the medics get to you you already lost to much blood. They stop the wound from bleeding but you`ve already just about bleed to death with no time left to reach the hospital. This way they can suspend your life for a brief amount of time, doctors have plenty of time to fix what is wrong with you without worrying about you losing blood preasure or losing even more blood. Then they fill you back with blood and you wake back up. It`s just like going to sleep it sounds like. 0 brain damage and not damage except what was already done. I`m game. If they could perfect this for the battle field who knows how many soliders, marines, and airmen alike would not have to die???

This doesn`t look good. I don`t want to die, but I don`t want overpopulation to occur. There are too many people in the world as it is.

Anyone else find the generic pissed-off-wolf picture really out of place here? I`m sure the dogs are just fine... not out for anyone`s brains.

Notice this happens in Pittsburgh? All the best zombie movies are based in Pittsburgh.

Seriously thou, I don`t doubt it`s true, they revive kids who`ve fallen into lakes all the time. This works the same way, cept they remove the blood so it doesn`t freeze solid and burst all the little cells in the body. It`s cool cuz they could do this for people having surgeries of all sorts and not risk loosing the patient.

But then it really creeps me out considering, what is "dead"? And if we can keep someone/something brain dead for hours, and then bring them back, does it have any implications about a lack of an afterlife?

PHOTOSHOPPED hehe, na i think its tru, it makes sense. but as for bringing back soldiers- they`d hav 2 be frozen almost imediately and teh blood put bak in wud cost money to get... i dont think its feasable (ible? able? meh).

we cannot make it so no one will die, the earth is over filled as it is... if we make it so no one will die it will be the end of the world ... and once they learn to do it no one will refuse it ... even if it means saving the world

Are blood transfusions are "unethical" as well?

Science has to come from somewhere. Would you rather they do the research on your sister or your mother or father? The Russians discovered the transfusion with a precursor to this story back in the 1930`s. Almost everyone knows someone who`s had a blood transfusion. If not for the sacrifical animals, most of us would not know anyone who did, just more dead people.
