Even if the chick who wrote is a geek/nerd, she`s got valid points. I`m sure a girl wrote it, cuz I`ve had conversations like this with my female frineds (ok, we`re engineers and surrounded by geeks/nerds... they rub off on you...not in that way you pervert!)

I`ve dated my share of both, and I`ll tell ya that there are enough cute geek guys out there, and even some that aren`t so cute at first will look cuter the more you spend time with them. The bar-attending, balls-for-brains, jock-type are sure to cheat on you, treat you like crap, and eventually dump you for some drunk whore with bigger boobies. No girl should want to be that druk whore just to get a guy.

geeks are people too - i`ve been to enough lan parties to find that one out. if you don`t mind never seeing the sun again and getting that green computer-screen-glow, it`s whole load of fun!

though one does wonder what would happen if geeks became so popular with girls that the entire chauvinistic, ass-slapping whazz-upping side of the male race became extinct. what a great day for humanity that would be.

oh, and what`s the technical difference between a geek and a nerd? just always wondered...

For the folks from Europe who are unfamiliar with Mt. Dew (I hope you were being sincere instead of sarcastic), Mt. Dew is a sweet soda LOADED with caffeine that is the beverage of choice for code-monkeys and all-night LAN party gamers. It`s as ubiquitous in a geek`s home as sports mementos in a jock`s house.

I have a friend that`s a geek, and he`s one of the best friends i`ve ever had. And he`s probably one of the coolest guys in the school. And to answer your question, nerds are more intellegence/education centered. Geeks are more computer techie type. I think this article is great. Geeks aren`t what everyone portrays them to be, they can actually be some of the best people you`ll ever meet.

okie I am truly insulted with what yotimes3 has said. I am not shallow!! Thats so unfair. Its like saying all black ppl are thugs! And you kno thats not true. I never dated a good looking guy yet, and I loved them so much everyone off the guys I had ever been with I loved not coz off there looks coz off there personailty. One guy I dated was 200 pounds and he was one off the greatest boyfriends. I still thought he was a cutie. ANother one I dated has the worst acne ever all ovre his intyer body. I stayed with him for 2 years and I wa gonna marry him. I also dated another guy who was skinner then me and had the messyest hair and the biggest glasses. Maybe in high school gurls havta be a little shallow, but thats coz if you didnt date the jocks you wern`t populer. I hapen to perfure geeks. Coz guys like yotimes3 make me only want to date geeks and guys who arnt pretty boys more.

The biggest problem that geeks have is that they have a stigma of self-unbelief. They think jocks are the only guys that get girls. If you just go out there and ask out 20 girls, even if only one says yes, you still got a date, no matter what.

    Just sayin`.

I agree with pipelias, I know some guys who are always complaining "I can`t get a girl because I`m a nice guy. Why don`t girls ever like the nice guys?" On and ON. It`s not because they`re nice guys that we don`t date them. It`s because they whine.

Geeks are awesome. Hearing about your heroic deeds in D&D or the merits of your favored programming language is infinitely more interesting than having a "hot" guy mack on me. But how about an article about geek girls and geek guys? Yeah you may think its cool to have a chick who can rack up frags on your friends at the next LAN party, but are you willing to let her take over your rig for some quality human & machine time? Geek guys, though they are generally more sensitive might still feel threatened by a *gasp* girl being better than them in thier area of expertise. I love my geek friends and I`ve leaned a LOT from dating geek guys. But now I have my beer-swilling, baseball-waitching non-geek. He cooks, I clean, he maintains the car, I maintain the computers; we balance each other`s strengths and weaknesses. My point is: there are good guys out there, don`t discount the geeks or even the non-geeks.

the fact is really stereotyping is bas for everybody. Claiming that girls are shallow, geeks are uncool, and jocks are insensitive. There are some people who adhere to the stereotype and some that don`t. One of my best friends would be considered a jock and he is actually a pretty great person. Likewise I know some geeks that are popular, and nice guys who have it easy with women, and I know girls that aren;t shallow at all.

I`m not a geek, or a nerd, or a jock or anything else really I`m just me. I always see girls for who they are. It just seems sometimes that girls are too often obsessed with the `right image`. And before anyone lauches a tirade against me about being sexist I know blokes are just as bad. just not me :-) Point being I fit this girls list without actually being a geek or nerd (apart from the one about finding me unconsious surrounded by beer bottles ;-))

Ahh i love girls who can understand us *quote* Popularity Challenged*end quote* There are so many but none of them go to my school. A nerd is somebody who is intelligent from the point of a little bit to the guy who reads the dictionary, A geek is the dude you seee playing online and going to D&d meetings at 1 A.M. i am a mixture of the two although i would rather be called a nerd. I am a smart independent guy who is sensitive and can understand girls.
