This was very entertaining. It only makes me wish that sending reply letters were mandatory.

I`m confused. Which one is it? Am I whiny and illiterate, or am I a good satirist?

They`re kind of mutually exclusive.

Though, as a fellow satirist, I must say pretty well written.

He could have cut that letter down by 99% just by saying "I`m a whiney, illiterate moron, and I must blame you."

I love Ikea. It`s great. I hate allen wrenches though. It`s like trying to put my bookshelf together with a damn paper clip.

What dumb ass can`t put together an IKEA product? I`ve seen my grandmother whip a six-shelved entertainment centre together in less than an hour and she`s been dead for three years! Holy crap! Maybe this guy should put down the tools, pick up the dictionary and look up the words "PASSIVE-AGRESSIVE!" Geez! pass the paxil!

Well, first I rage. Then I write sarcastic letters.

Thanks for the visits and the comments. They`re making my day much more fun.

And no, they never wrote back.

He`d be a fun person to stand behind in line at customer service rather than the typical psychotic rage-ahol. Too funny.

I`m sorry, I`m sure there are many of you out there who aren`t mechanically inclined, but I`ve put together many an Ikea item and seriously, the Expedit is one of the simpler ones. (see here
http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...

And I always check the box, before I leave Ikea, K-mart, Sears, etc, that it has what I asked for.

Anyways, maybe it`s just cuz I played with legos as a child, but I don`t see why people have such a hard time with Ikea furniture.

dog, if you read a little closer it says "thus allowing people who may not speak the world`s primary languages"

He wasn`t talking about just English, I think he was suggesting instructions in each of the world`s primary languages as it customary for many instruction manuals.

Hilarious! Great post. I know all too well his pain and suffering at the hands (and assembly instructions) of IKEA. The references to IKEA`s "droll, delightful, impressionist documentation" cracked me up big time.

I stopped reading when the guy complained that the instructions weren`t written in "the world`s primary language." ....Er, um, he *does* understand that IKEA is a *SWEDISH* furniture company, doesn`t he?

so next weekend, as a way of replicating the experience, I am considering staying home and banging myself repeatedly in the head with a hammer.

I would love it if those crazy Ikeans didn`t get the sarcasm, thought he was really happy and sent him an advance 2006 catalogue. I think he`d actually explode...

This was too funny! Reminds me of a few months ago when we bought a new computer desk.. and my husband and I spent 3 days trying to figure out how to put the damn thing together. It was just like what the letter said.. pictures and no words, holes that weren`t drilled all the way and were covered, things didn`t match up. Haha I could definately relate to this guy. :-)
