Conspiracy theory or not? You decide.

LOL...60-40 range. Says who? :-) You`ve managed to narrow down conspiracy to an empirical science now?

The objective in this kind of conspiracy would be simple: win the election. And the less untoward action possible, the better. For the simple reason that every unnecessary action (in this example, votes "flipped" or whatever), is just that much more loose end that could be caught. Not rocket science.

Anyway, personally, I don`t think this kind of thing makes an iota of difference. Even if they had a pure smoking gun, it would be ultimately meaningless...there would still be a slew of apologists and it would still be covered up. America`s obviously on the road to partisan implosion regardless of "facts", so hey.

" A landslide would be much more conspicuous"

Yes. If there was a conspiracy, it would be much more likely to fall in the 60%-40% range.

A close election often turns people to look for reasons why they lost - such as conspiracies or what not. A land slide leads to a, "WTF" reaction.

In short, it isn`t worth risking an election to cheat for a few thousand votes.

dog_or_man brought up the funding cuts. I just mentioned that it was both sides that cut it.

BBC? please dont tell me you think just because its not American you think its fair.

I absolutley agree that this partisan crap is ruining America. But it was the democrats who said they will fight anything this administration attempts to do, with the reasoning that it will win over American voters. I like to consider myself independant, I will vote democratic if there is a good candidate. As I sit and watch the world go round I see the Dems pulling away from America and its people and doing all they can to create contraversey instead partisinship.

And jtc, senate voting records are pretty pointless. I doubt that you have any personal knowledge of the other circumstances surrounding the bills that Kerry voted on. Ever heard of a rider? Ever heard of the national debt? We can`t cut taxes, fund a dead-ended war, and keep all the entitlements at the same level. I don`t hear you talking about the cuts that education and agricultural support programs - and just about everything else that isn`t related to the war or abstinence-only sex ed. classes - are taking in this years proposed budget.

Not to `flame` you, but I certainly don`t consider myself `stupid.` I`d love to believe that there`s a conspiracy behind Bush winning the election - then maybe we`d be able to get him out of office and everyone would realize what a dog he is. I`m not `naiv` (sic) - I realize that the American media doesn`t report everything that goes on in this country. That`s why I get most of my news from the BBC. Just because I`m from the US doesn`t mean I`m stupid, and just because you`re from Europe doesn`t mean you`re more intelligent.

And another point...this partisan [email protected] is ruining politics in this country. When "liberal," "conservative," "Republican," and "Democrat" have turned into insults, something is seriously wrong. We all have to live with the people who get voted into office - we`re in the same goddamn boat no matter what side of the political spectrum we`re on.

True as that site`s allegation may be (or not...I couldn`t care less), I have to at least say that that "if there was a conspiracy the election wouldn`t have been that close" theory has to be among the stupidest things spewed on the topic. Of COURSE, to anyone with half a grey cell, that`s EXACTLY how it would be. A landslide would be much more conspicuous, far more of an invitation to scrutiny, and easier to get caught at once that scrutiny was underway. Not to mention harder to get sheep to defend one blindly with. )-|

heres a little iota
prisoner abuse gets 4 months of coverage (people should be fired, forced retirement)
Iraqi people hold their first election with a huge percentage turnout gets 2 days of spuratic coverage and no credit is given for something as huge as that.

OMG BUSH HAD 39847029874 CONSPIRACIES FOR THE ELECECTION! I swear, every week, there`s a new conspiracy. If there was a conspiracy, guys, the election wouldn`t have been that close.

honestly, I just cannot see it! how is the mainstream media liberal? give me a specific example...please explain it to me, because I cannot find it. do they talk about civil rights often? yes. do they spew anit-bush messages? yes. but they also did the same thing against Clinton, were cheerleaders fort he Iraq war and are totally exaggerating the terri shiavo fiasco!....I see it leaning both left and right at different times; which could be considered balanced to some people. but my ears are open; explain it to me like a normal human being and I`ll be more then receptive to another point of view.

puh-lease! the democrats (the sore loser democrats, at least) are just trying to find something to bitch over. do you seriously think that one man would be in charge of all of the voting machines in south florida without any other person testing them. i think not.

Thanks for pointing out my inperfections in a post I wrote at 7am this morning dog_or_man. If I knew it was going to be graded I would`ve tried much harder.
Cutting funding?? Remember who voted for it before he voted against it?

Didn`t anyone of you notice one thing.. your all from the US, Obviously many of u naiv people think that your media would cover everything. Fox for example is so clearly sucking up to Bush, they would never report anything that would hurt him. I still wonder why you voted for Bush, anyone.. even Kerry would have been better. "For the record, I still think that the voting machines did not count the vote accurately, though it was probably more of a malfunction and less of a conspiracy" Lol, Then why did the machines be so clearly in favor of Bush..a coincidence..naah I don`t think so. Don`t flame me for this. I`m not saying that all of you from US would be stupid, but it does seem like the majority is. BTW jtc970 tell me how Kerry hurt the veterans PLZ I`m begging for it! mail me at: [email protected]

As dedicated a liberal as I am, and as much as I would love this to be true, I have to say that this is probably a crock. If the guy is such a credible whistleblower, then why didn`t he blow said whistle any other time in the past five years? For the record, I still think that the voting machines did not count the vote accurately, though it was probably more of a malfunction and less of a conspiracy.

I doubt this is false. But sadly, whatever has happened can not be reversed, so we can only try to accept what we have and live with it.

"A bad candidate that hurt are veterans"? Um, no, actually, I think you meant, "A bad candidate that hurt OUR veterans" -- which would mean you were talking about the guy who cut their funding, presumably. The guy in the White House right now.

ummm... rumors don`t come with a credible whistleblower who will risk perjury on a signed affadavit. read the story before you pass it of as partisan nonsense. http://www.rawstory.com/images/pdfs/CC_A...

The news isn`t covering it because it`s rumor.
If the dems had anything even halfway true they would be on their podiums screaming this and that, while still fighting against anything this administration does. give it up, you didn`t lose because of a programmer you lost because you had a very very bad candidate that hurt are veterans more than he would have ever helped America.

Ha! That wasn`t half as amusing as all the comments on the bottom.

Some people take internet rumors a bit too seriously, if you ask me.
