Assuming that the spirit (soul...whatever) goes to heaven, what would happen to those millions of bodies? Would they disappear too? Or would they just be empty shells, like when people die?

Yeah, but assuming this is a website run by christians, who`s going to actually send the letters? How will the website know when the rapture occurs? Are they going to keep a non-religious worker and "forget" to tell him why he is going to be sending all these letters when people dissapear?

Sounds like a waste of time...

^^^According to the site the sending is supposed to be triggered by a deadman switch that the owner resets (every day? every week?). So conceivably lots of people could be spammed with early Rapture letters if this guy dies, forgets, or loses his internet connection. :-P

Christians believe in a multi-leveled Armageddon. In the first stage, the good stage, god collects all of the people who believed in him and leaves us sinful folk on earth. Then we get some amount of time to decide whether or not we`re going to become Christian ourselves, and then starts the bad Armageddon in which all satan takes all the bad sinful people. . . like welfare moms and Buddhists. Really, if all the Christian people in the world disappear suddenly you`re not going to need stupid rapture letters to convince everyone to be Christian. I mean, seriously, why indoctrinate in the first place.

Hello, I`d just like to say that Buddhists aren`t "bad sinful people". Meh, you should watch with the way you say stuff, that`s how so many people get aggravated nowadays...

Yes, that was a joke. Christians believe that Buddhists are sinful people when all they want to do is bring peace. It speaks to a very bad definition of sinful that Christians have, ie. anyone who does not exclusively support their religion.

Not that I think anyone is listening, but I think, Liang, you might benefit from a little history lesson. I’m assuming you’re Chinese from your name. If you’re not then please write me off as a stupid American on that one. One reason that Asia has no clue about how exclusive, indoctrinating, and fairly down right evil Christianity can be is because for such a long period of Asian history western ideas like Christianity were considered threats to the established orders of Asian nations, and so the various political leaders moved to bar against it throughout much of your history. China had long outlawed its people from even coming in contact with those from the west.

And yet, leaders of a group of Christians called the Jesuits who desired to convert all of China to Christianity, held a place in the imperial court of China for about a hundred years between the early 17th and 18th centuries. The reason they were given such favor by the emperor, was because they allowed those Chinese who chose to become Christian to continue to follow their own cultural traditions, such as ancestor worship. They held Christian religious services in Chinese and said that Christian teachings were so much like Confucianism that they were essentially one in the same religion.

And yet Christianity still clamed to be the one and only true religion, believing that Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism were inferior, if not outright evil. When the Pope discovered that the Jesuits had been holding services in Chinese, showing respect for Confucianism, and allowing their Chinese followers to continue the path of their traditions, he was enraged. He ordered the Jesuits to suppress their followers traditions, end their equating of the religion with Confucianism, and holding services in Chinese, and press their followers to a European standard. And that’s why the emperor of China outlawed Christianity.

Nothing has changed. Christians still consider Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism, and traditions like ancestor worship as evil superstitions. And just like the Pope forcing the Jesuits to make their Chinese followers act European, Christianity is still an attempt by the west to force its customs onto the rest of the world.
