I don`t think it will be useful in the future, but it sure was interesting. The website layout was also very attention-grabbing.

Hmmm... Somewhat correct, though it can`t be 100% all the time because it`s supposed to be translated by pronounciation.

flovebunny and jinexile are right though, use a katakana chart to check up on it and watchout for kanji. The kanji probably have some serious downfalls, seeing as multiple kanji have the same sounds. The sound "shi" can be taken as "death" or "four" and a few others things as well. So yeah.. Beware...

I suppose that a site like this is only interesting to people that have enough motivation to venture outside the city in which they were born at some point during their life. God forbid visiting another country!

Ainur if you`re an arrogant white male body builder wannabe you must get it tatoo`d somewhere in large letters somewhere visible to show how "deep" you are.

This has been posted a couple times on iab in the past but is a good idea to check out this site before you get a tatto/clothing/etc with your "name" or clever phrase in chinese http://www.hanzismatter.com/

The thing is Kanji is using chinese/japanese characters to best fit your name when pronouncing, it`s not a direct translation and in most cases sounds like gibberish in actual chinese but sometimes has hilarious consequences.

kathaclysm, they show you your name in katakana, which is a japanese syllabary (yeah, i know i spelled that wrong) you can get your hands on any katakana chart on the internet and cross-check it to be sure. there are only 45 or 46 katakana syllables so it`s not massive. it`s easier to make mistakes with the kanji, because those symbols are harder to look up.

I`m still suspicious that it really says something like "bottom sniffer".... and when I get a t-shirt with my "name" on it, it`s just a way for smarter ppl to point and laugh at me.
