The jig is up kids, now your parents will know what you"re typing about. So, please, go back to using English.

It`s not really anyhting like a secret code. You just squint and it looks like normal English.

I liked the whole "pron: an anagram for porn, possibly indicating the usage of pornography."

The thing is, most internet users don`t use 1337. This much is true. But I know that my boyfriend--who considers himself a "hardcore" PC gamer--and his friends do speak in 1337 speak. Apparently there are communities that use it frequently. That disturbs me.

Just.....sad. 1337 is sad enough as it is, but for some reason, hearing microsoft seriously listing all of the translations and such make it even sadder. This one was my favorite: " "h4x": Read as "hacks," or what a computer hacker does. " Gee, ya think?

OK...no one I know talks like that...ha ha...sheesh though if I encounter that weird speak, I really can`t understand it. It just seems more like a hassle to type than anything else.

haha. !337 5P34k has to be the dumbest creation. ever.

still....i think it`s stupid that just because some moron types in it, his parents should assume he`ssome sort of computer hacker.

i mean---he`s talking in !337!!! that should be reason enough to prove he`s not smart enough to be a hacker.

Yeah, it was entertaining, but damnit...people really need a new language. Might I suggest the cheese language.

Instead of the word I, use the word Mozerella.

Yeah Mozerella pwn all jew 1337 sp34ker5. hardxore.

Wow, how enlightening...still, I bet it doesn`t get rid of thoose stupid (stoopid) kids still. I mean, who the hell uses that?
Next, the l33ter will move on to typing binary or something. Ha! That`d be funny, watching parents read through their kid`s chat logs!

"It`s important to remember that the leetspeek community encourages new forms and awards individual creativity..."

Meanwhile, everyone above the mental age of 9 groans and shakes their head at people who regularly use this crime against written language.
