I love David Firth. This is definately one of his best flashes. It depicts a deep scene, but fits in some funny pieces in places.

I`ve been battling depression for the past year or two. It`s very hard and people will always tell you just to cheer up but I`ve gotten mostly better now. Occasionaly I`ll lhave small relapses when I feel horribly lonely bu those have mostly gone away. I hope anyone else who is suffering from depression will be able to overcome it.

i have been suffering from depression for over a year now & i know just how scribbler feels. this film has touched me in ways i thought nothing could. in a funny way i feel better knowing that there are people who feel like i do out there.

oh & hellraizer? i really hope you live your whole life out in that little bigotted bubble you are currently in, because if it ever bursts you`ll realise what a damaging thing your posting was & you will have real trouble living with that on your conscience.

That`s so sad. I get depressed and it feels so bad, you don`t have a choice, and a lot of people take pills, then go off and get depressed again. YOu have absolutely no energy at all and you can`t think or concentrate. i have diabetes and i know what it`s like t be down about something. Please, if someone you know is depressed, don`t tell them to cheer up, instead sit down and talk to them, tell them that your always there. They won`t realise it then, but telling someone eventually makes you feel better cos you don`t have to hide or deny it.

I know what thats like. I myself, my brother, and many of my friends feel like that. Luckily, we`ve all gotten help and have gotten better. It`s still no fun looking back on those times though.

This animation is simply beautiful. Isn`t that the guy that does Salad Fingers? There`s a similar style. This one`s simpiler, but it`s still there.

my apologies. i need to be more clear when i write these, to avoid offending people. i wasn`t refering to people who suffer from depression when i stated all of that earlier. they have an excuse to be down.rather, i was talking about people who are always in a bad mood and letit rub off onto other people...you know the type of people that i`m talking about. the ones that just are never happy.

I think everyone who has never suffered from depression and thinks it`s some "woe is me" sort of thing should have to live through just one day of it. It`s not bad enough that when someone has depression they have to deal with the overwhelming sense of hopelessness and sadness, no, they also have to deal with people who tell them to get a life and cheer up. I assure you that if it were possible to just "cheer up" from an actual depression then people would do it in a heartbeat. It`s not a choice, it`s not self pity, it`s an illness, and it has claimed more lives than I care to think about. When coupled with the callousness of people who don`t bother to think such things through, one can almost imagine why people who are extremely depressed feel the need to end it. But then again, maybe such callousness is due to some sort of traumatic brain injury that resulted in inability to feel empathy.

"woe is me - you wouldn`t understand what it`s like to be me...blah, blah, blah"

That`s not what this is at all, did you even WATCH the link?

I wouldn`t call this beautiful but I would call it highly accurate as to what depression/anxiety feels like. Anyone who gets to live their life and not feel "ill" should do a dance of joy for being so lucky. Seriously.

i`ve suffered from depression on and off since i can remember virtually, and if i could show this to all the idiots that keep telling me to explain how i feel life would be a whole lot easier.
this isn`t a `woe is me` thing, it`s a reality check, this is what life is like for me and many other people

Link: Scribbler [Rate Link] - A slightly depressing yet beautiful video about what it`s like to be down.

I think this video is amazing. David Firth, creator of Salad Fingers made this video when he was feeling down as a university student, and it so simply captures what depression is. Possibly my favourite internet cartoon.
