Because some people started shooting him in the legs and then ran off singing "Magical Trevor".

A man fell over. Why?

these are impossible to answer correctly if you cant ask questions back to whoever asked the question in the first place.

The only ones I got were numbers six, ten, twelve and thirteen

#9, 14 and 17 were pretty dumb

for example...my solution to #18 (the music stopped)...was that she was a misquito. she landed on a chair during a game of musical chairs and was sat on. there isn`t any right or wrong answer.

^^^teresa- like i`ve said before: the answers are supposed to sound random. lateral thinking puzzlesdon`t have a definite answer. you`re supposed to brainstorm your own. they ones they give are just the most commonly used.

these are drating retarded. the one where the guy realizes he has eaten his son is just stupid. its like someone made up some really random answer that no one else could possibly think of because there are a million other possible answers and then says that his stupid backwards answer is the correct one and anybody who doesnt know that is stupid. these are just dumb.

i love these. At the summer camp i work for we do the more creepy ones at campfires. Its really fun, but hard to have the kids ask just one question at a time.

my teacher used to ask us these questions in class, letting us ask yes-or-no questions to help narrow down the solution. it`s great to find all these new ones. i`m going to try them out with some people. :-)

Number three is obvious. Except I don`t get why they said a block of ice instead of the obvious idea of using a chair? I mean doesn`t everyone use a chair when they hang themselves?

they are supposed to be specific! the idea is to brainstorm as many possible answers as you can. they just give you one possibility.

When I was younger, the school enrolled me in a Talented and Gifted program. These were given to us regularly, and they are great for using that area in the brain that needs to be stimulated for higher thinking and problem solving skills.

We did it a little differently, though...our teacher told us we can only ask question where the answer is Yes or No, and the limit was 20. That helped greatly.

I do agree, however, some of the answers are too specific...

The guy is a midgit, and the highest number he can reach is 7, so he goes to the 7th floor and has to walk the rest of the way.

as for the dwarf one, the man cannot reach the buttons any higher than number seven- so he is forced to walk the rest of the way.

the whole point of these is that there could be more than one correct answer. the solution that is listed is just the answer most associated with the question. i was a little dissapointed, though. all of those are old and popular.

Some of those I remember from when I was a kid.

Some are real lateral thinking puzzles, two of them though are stories that just come right out of someone`s butt. Example: The guy who shoots himself because he doesn`t recognize the taste of Albatross. I mean, COME ON!

Some were pretty clever though, the dwarf in the elevator (first one) was pretty good.

Having read these, I`m not sure whether a lot of these are lateral thinking, or just things that make you think they could be achieved by lateral thought as they seem so obvious, but `hindsight is 20:20` (cool quote from somewhere) The ability to think outside of the box may allow far more solutions than the classical ones, and so in having classical answers proves to be just as restrictive as if you`d gone about it logically.

I`m sure I have an argument that makes sense in there somewhere, I just don`t feel able to form it properly. : /
