Wow, I can`t believe I`d only heard of ONE of the ten listed. Also, I thought the sex bracelets thing happened earlier--I remember hearing about them about two years ago.

the sex bracelet thing was more of a rumor that triggered a poorly concieved trend. i know of immature, early adolescents that wore the things- and yes- i`m sure they were sexually active.

"It has become all but impossible in the aftermath to distinguish between media-fueled hysteria and what may have once been an authentic, localized phenomenon.

Meanwhile, sales of jelly bracelets have gone through the roof nationwide. "

the bracelet thing IS true, but not to the proportions the media made it out to be. kids actually took it seriously in one school in the states. the bracelets were really popular, but most kids didn`t follow the meanings of them. even in oct. `04 the grade 8`s at my school wore them but only joked about the sex and all that.
