yeah...i`m gonna hafta throw in a little rant here. i can`t stand wally world. i hate the place with a passion! i live in a small town in WV, and until a few years ago we had at least a half a dozen grocery stores and the like....until we get walmart. now that`s all we have. and it`s not so great being forced to put my money into a market hundreds of miles away. plus- they supply poor quality products and have an excessive (or at least i think) censorship of products. in conclusion: WALLY WORLD IS CRAP! :-)

hoby-no one is "forcing" you to put money in a market miles away. I think walmart is good, especially with the low prices, they can reach out to all people. plus where else can you get clothes, a camera, a haircut, and dinner all at the same place?

yeah i think wal marts great.i love how i can go anywhere and know that im getting the samething i would back home.they are quite efficient.but they have very little soul.
They have a much as a drone organization can.
theres no history with each store.
So it depends on what your looking for in a store. The thing i really dont like about walmart thought, is there policy about land that they buy.Look up walmart burial sites on google.Or go to http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/10/14/hawaii....
Oh yeah and the video feed on the frontline site sucks. It stoped like every 20 seconds.i only got through 3 mins or something, before i gave up.

well i like Wal-mart.. i like the thought of being able to do some many things at one place.. but it`s sad though that since Wally died Wal-mart has gone down the drain.. i mean seriously think about it.. People had to actually greet you with a smile and if Wally came in and you didn`t greet him you were fired.. he wouldn`t like what has happended to his store.. but that`s just my opinion i like Wal-mart i shop there when i can.. i do find it very disturbing that Wal-mart put a building above Graves, but i dunno you would think that they would of made sure there were no graves, but then again that kinda of industry is more about money than it is about morals so who knows

"if Wally came in and you didn`t greet him you were fired.."

Yep. Your dog died. Your girlfriend left you. You cut off your big toe shaving this morning. But screw all that man! Put on a happy face for that whole 2 seconds the customer can see you as they walk in the door! Or else you don`t have a job!! Oh and do that stupid dance every morning.

Someone wake me up when people are ready to take their lives back.

doesn`t wal-mart use child labor and drive out smaller businesses by making their prices lower than theirs till the competition goes bankrupt, then they raise their prices?

this is just what i heard.

rca, if Walmart replaces all the local stores, then someone like hoby would have no choice but to shop at Walmart, and most of the money you pay to Walmart does not stay in the community.

    And yes, Target is better!

I agree with hoby. It is hard when you are forced to put your money into it. To the people who say he isnt forced, why dont you try visiting one of the small towns... sometimes they are the ONLY stores for miles.... because it makes the others bankrupt cause walmart can offer lower prices... the brands do suck...

I myself... well I dont care personally.. I dont livein a small town... but target is still better

Come to Walmart. Rub shoulders with every low-life in your community as they search for the bargains. Stand in a line that stretches all the way to the diaper aisle. 25 minutes of your life standing in that line which you`ll never get back. When you finally get to the dummy at the cash register, watch as she calls for a price check on your tube of toothpaste. Wait another 5 minutes and listen to the people getting angry behind you in line. They hate you, ya know. They blame you for the delay. They are wishing death upon you as they stare at the back of your head. Try to control yourself, for the urge to turn around and start pummeling the person behind you will be overwhelming.
Finally leave the store. Search for your car in the massive parking lot. Move 2 carts out of your way which are blocking your car from reversing. Take a deep breath.

    Thank you, come again.

I live in a small town in a rural area, and I have to say, there are no more small businesses. We used to have a "quaint" historic downtown area, but since Wal Mart moved in, its a ghost town. I`ve also had the misfortune of working at Wal Mart in the past... I have never been treated with such disrespect by an employer. I`ve never talked to someone who worked at Wal Mart that wasn`t miserable. I still shop there because, in all honesty, I can`t afford not to. I don`t have the money to drive an hour to shop in smaller stores every time I need something.

If you support walmart, you`re not only supporting a lack of variety or quality in your life, you`re also supporting some chinese working for $1 a day. But, hell, who wants to pay an extra 2 bucks for a tv, even if it means keeping jobs in this country. Sure it contributes to the deflating value of the dollar, but we`re ok with that cuz, who wants to buy more expensive products from europe anyway? Cheaper products for you also means higher inflation, lower dollar value, and less jobs in this country.

And anyone who didn`t watch the whole show shouldn`t comment.

there`s nothing wrong with wal-mart...if you ignore the fact that in spite of creating jobs, it also takes them away. it bankrupts small businesses, forcing people to shop there. and on top of that, they sell crappy stuff and censor the products they sell. it is not the place of a huge corporation to determine one`s individual or family values for them. but yeah, other than that, there`s nothing wrong with wal-mart.

Not going to wal mart isn`t going to make much of a difference in the world.
It`s just the same as vegetarians not eating meat. Animals are still going to be killed, eaten, sold...
This world is a bad place, and if you really want to make a difference, become a doctor or something. You shouldn`t just become an Anti Wal Mart freak, it solves nothing. But if you do, to each his own.
And it`s not like most of you cared about this issue before you clicked on the link. I like wal mart. my husband and I go there for emergency food, or when all other stores are closed. It`s a good place, even if it has some skeletons in the closet, but then again, what doesn`t?

I haven`t shopped at walmart since they stopped taking discover card actually. And, I don`t care if people are just learning about the problem now, point is they are learning. Honestly, if you truely knew how your food was grown, you`d probably become a vegitarian. If people learn, and it changes them, that`s a good thing. And it`s ok that people are pissed, it makes you think. Too many people in this country don`t think, they go to McDonalds and Walmart cuz they`re lazy, and then complain to the government when they`re fat and poor. Lazy asses, spend the extra 2 bucks and walk the extra 2 miles and take the extra 2 min to make your life better and more meaningful! :-/
