you can see the insurgents with their weapons in the beginning of the video. the beginning was cut out in the `pop-up` version. they were soldiers. it`s obvious. come on.
You people are idiots.
In a war in which you can`t tell who is an enenmy combatant and who is actually glad to see you there, everyone is suspect. The kid you may be shaking hands with today may ride in a donkey cart loaded with explosives tomorrow. And his destination may be the building where your son, father, husband, daughter, girlfriend, or whomever close to you works or lives.
Notice that in the video they don`t tell you WHY the Apache is hovering around... or who the people in question actually were. The sensationalistic use of VH-1 style pop-up commentary is extremely distasteful, even to this ex-soldier. It is this kind of incomplete, tabloid-quality reporting that makes the average American soldier look like the so-called "baby-killers" of the Vietnam era.
DISCLAIMER: If you`ve never been in combat before, I understand. Otherwise, here`s a glass of stfu. kthybye. And PM`s are ---> that way.
Look in the "Bargain Bin" and its the video "Good, Fire, Hit Him: The Misadventures of Three Iraqi Farmers"
Guess I lose out. :-(
Even at the begining of the war coallition soldiers were treated with basic rights by the Iraqi`s yet we`ve systematically abused the prisoners we`ve taken.
Absolutely no threat was coming from either of the 3 individuals who were killed. It was the killing of 3 civilians; a war crime.
Those are soldiers.
Just because someone is hiding under a tractor doesn`t mean he is a farmer.
